Knowledge Management in Hospitality and Tourism
CRC; 1 edition (October 8, 2003) | 0789021463 | 137 pages | PDF | 23 Mb
When knowledge is properly managed, it s in the hands of those who need it BEFORE they need it. This greatly improves the speed of business operations by eliminating time-consuming information searching!
This book will show you how to make any hospitality or tourism related business more efficient and competitive by using knowledge management concepts and techniques.
It provides an essential introduction to the concept of knowledge management plus fascinating case studies, strategic advice, and structural recommendations for its implementation. You ll learn to use knowledge management to avoid the duplication of research, reducing the cost of product research and development and increasing the effectiveness of your overall operation. Helpful charts and figures make the information easy to access and understand.
From the editors: Although tourism and hospitality, with their geographically dispersed units, can profit from enhanced knowledge management, only a small number of firms have implemented knowledge management techniques. A recent study shows that although managers in many hotels consider knowledge management and information transfer to be relevant concepts, they report being confronted with too many-and unclear-knowledge management strategies, activities, and implementation techniques. As a result, they are not sufficiently familiar with knowledge management and reject implementing it. This book will increase understanding of these concepts and help to speed the implementation of knowledge management in the hospitality and tourism industries.

Mobile Computing, Applications, and Services
Publisher: Springer | ISBN: 3642126065 | edition 2010 | PDF | 406 pages | 9,7 mb
This proceedings volume includes the full research papers presented at the First International Conference on Mobile Computing, Applications, and Services (MobiCASE) held in San Diego, California, on October 26-29, 2009. MobiCASE highlights state-of-the-art academic and industry research work in domain topics above the OSI transport layer with an emphasis on complete end-to-end systems and their components. Its vision is largely influenced by what we see in the consumer space today: high-end mobile phones, high-bandwidth wireless networks, novel consumer and enterprise mobile applications, scalable software infrastructures, and of course an increasingly larger user base that is moving towards an almost all-mobile lifestyle. |

Miles Davis - We Want Miles [Japan Edition CSCS 5131-5132] (1982)
Jazz / Fusion | FLAC (Cue, Log, Scans) | 540 MB (rec. 5%)
EAC Rip | 2CD | Time: 77:09 min | Label: CBS / Sony Group Japan
Davis s second recording since ending his six-year retirement was one of his best of the 1980s. Unlike his bands from the 1970s, this particular unit leaves plenty of space and plays much more melodically. Guitarist Mike Stern lets loose some fury, but electric bassist Marcus Miller is not reluctant to walk now and then in a straight-ahead fashion, drummer Al Foster and percussionist Mino Cinelu are tasteful, and Bill Evans gets in a few good spots on soprano. As for Davis, he was gradually regaining his earlier form.
Recorded live at Kix, Boston, Massachusetts on June 27, 1981; Avery Fisher Hall, New York, New York on July 5, 1981; Tokyo, Japan on October 4, 1981. |
