Friends and colleagues since 1988, Ikue Mori and Zeena Parkins are two of the strongest musical voices out of the downtown scene. Atlanta, Georgia native Kelly Rowland is probably best known as one third of the superstar pop girl-group Destiny s Child, along with Beyoncй Knowles and Michelle Williams. With Destiny s Child she had hits including Say My Name , Independent Women Part I (from the Charlie s Angles soundtrack), Survivor and Bootylicious . The group decided to go their separate ways in 2005 and Rowland embarked on her solo career.
