Mortal Kombat is an ancient tournament where the Earth Realm warriors battle against the forces of Outworld. Liu Kang and a few chosen fighters fought and defeated the powerful sorcerer Shang Tsung, their victory would preserve the peace on Earth for one more generation. Taking place now where the first movie left off, the Earth realm warriors live a short period of peace when evil forces from another dimension come to invade and wreak havoc on Earth. They are guided by the forces of Outworld leader, Shao Kahn and his generals such as: Motaro, Rain, Ermac, Sheeva and Sindel. Now Liu Kang, Raiden, Jax, Sonya and Kitana must defeat Shao Kahn in six days before the Earth realm merges with the Outworld.

Looks like Mortal Kombat escaped the end of days after all on the PSP, that is. Consoles experienced the closing of the series on current gen systems with the recent release of MK: Armageddon. Instead of porting the cataclysmic battle over to Sonys handheld, Midway decided to bring over the previous installment of the franchise to the PSP with Mortal Kombat Unchained. However, while having a portable version of MK: Deception with almost every feature from the console is an impressive feat on a UMD, the games implementation of the title definitely leaves much to be desired.

The goal - ten wins to be able to legally invade the losing Realm. Outworld has so far collected nine wins against Earthrealm, so it's up to Lord Rayden and his fighters to stop Outworld from reaching the final victory.
